So, sadly for people who have the PS3 (I'm in that camp too) it seems like we'll never be able to enjoy GH2 and GH80s to their full extent. Nothing has been said about the Fender, but even if Activision does allow it to work with GH3, I imagine it'll have the same problems with GH2 and 80s as the Les Paul. The Les Paul on PS3 will only have partial compatibility with GH2 and GH80s - rodth of RedOctane confirmed there are problems with HO/POs and problems with star power (probably means the whammy, or tilt activation, or both) which is why it is listed as partial compatibility. The PS3 (my console of choice) chart is a mess, it makes me a sad panda.Īll im hoping for is 100% compat on GH1,GH2 and 80's with either the RB fender or the GH3 LP for the ps3.I want to be able to play the old games on my future ps3. I was bored last night, so I got busy in Excel :P Glad my post on the other thread inspired someone who isn't as lazy as I am. (Excellent work taking the initiative to do this. The image just broke for me and won't load, but judging by the guy above me's post it seems to be working for others. I reall hope the 360 grid turns all green sometime soon. Jay said that all USB guitars will work for the PC/MAC edition, and rodth said that the PS3 Les Paul will use a USB dongle for wireless, so there's a good chance the PS3 Les Paul will work with the PC/MAC edition. Rock Band's "special features" refers specifically to the special solo sections where you use the solo frets and you don't have to strum. Using a PS2 -> PS3 adapter seems to result in hammer-ons and star power will not work properly, thus only partial compatibility.
If something is marked as unknown (purple) it means that nothing official has been announced and no one has had the opportunity to test it.

Whether it's Blue Öyster Cult or The All-American Rejects, it seems that both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are prepared to rock. Overall, it seems that Harmonix is putting in the work to make sure that players can still enjoy every bit of Rock Band 4 in the next generation. The Rock Band developer assured players that they don't need to fear purchasing one of the new consoles and leaving their bandmates in the dust, as Rock Band 4 will support cross-gen play for PS4 and PS5 players, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X players. These statements fall in line with other reports surrounding both of the new consoles, with games like Devil May Cry 5 sporting load times of a mere two seconds.įinally, Harmonix then provided details surrounding cross-generation play. Harmonix said that players should see a vast improvement in both performance and load times on both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. The blog post went on to discuss how Rock Band 4 will perform on the new consoles as well.

Players on Series X|S should be able to access their save data through a cloud save, and PS5 players will need to either use cloud save from their PlayStation Plus membership or perform a hard drive transfer. Harmonix continued this announcement by telling players that, not only will Rock Band 4 and all of its DLC work on both the PS5 and Series X, but save data will also transition over as well. RELATED: Guitar Hero Vs Rock Band: 5 Things Guitar Hero Does Better (& 5 Rock Band Does Better) While not every single instrument peripheral ever created for Rock Band was tested, Harmonix stated that it believes that, in general, "if it worked on Rock Band 4 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it should work on next-gen." In a post on the Harmonix Blog, the developer confirmed that a large amount of the Rock Band 4 instruments that were used this generation will work on the new consoles. However, it seems that fans of Rock Band 4, regardless of console, will be happy to learn that their instruments will work on both of the new consoles. While Xbox fans have been delighted to discover that all of their Xbox One accessories will come with them with full functionality into the next generation, PS5 advocates have had the dismay of realizing that their PS4 controllers will only work on PS4 games. As November gets closer, players around the world have wondered how their old gaming accessories will work with both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S.
